Today I am interviewing the owner of an Arkansas bed and breakfast inn who is looking for a Workamping couple or family to serve as innkeepers in 2024.
I have interviewed Christopher Smith in the past, and he’s looking for another Workamping couple or family to help manage the Ozark Country Inn bed and breakfast in Mountain View, Ark., which is located in the north-central part of the state.
The small community in the Ozark Mountains is known for its music festivals and venues that offer some type of musical entertainment every night.
The innkeepers would live in their RVs on the property, about 20 yards from the bed and breakfast. They need to get up early to have coffee ready by 7 and serve breakfast around 8:30. After cleaning up and checking out guests, there will be some housekeeping that needs to be done, but Workampers have plenty of time to explore the area.
Christopher is looking for friendly, outgoing people who love helping others to experience a relaxing, enjoyable stay at the bed and breakfast inn. Bed and breakfast inns tend to attract people who love to socialize and interact with others staying at the facility. It’s often a very laid-back vacation experience.
Workampers usually put in 30 hours a week working from March 1 to the end of June, or from July 1 to the end of November. However, if the Workampers enjoy the experience, they could stay for both seasons.
The first 15 hours of every week goes to cover the cost of an RV site with full hookups and access to WiFi service. All hours beyond the first 15 are paid at a rate of $12 per hour.
No special skills are required. The inn has recipes that are easy to follow in making breakfast for a maximum of 14 people, when the facility is completely booked. There are only six bedrooms at the inn, which Workampers have to clean after guests checkout, but they also tidy up the common areas.
It’s relatively easy work for people to do, and Christopher said he is flexible in scheduling days off so people can explore the area. Branson is two hours away. The Mountain View area offers lots of hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing opportunities in addition to the ability to enjoy live musical performances every evening.
