Gabriel Muñoz explains how to make money cleaning holding tanks in Episode 288

Today I am interviewing a man who has been RVing for three and a half years. During that time, he became involved with a business, and now teaches others to make money doing the same thing.

Gabriel Muñoz travels around the country with his wife, Alissa; 11-year-old son, Oliver; and two dogs in a 36-foot Grand Design Transcend travel trailer. They have put on nearly 90,000 miles since they started.

Alissa is a traveling healthcare professional who works short-term jobs ranging from a few weeks to a few months. Together, they are roadschooling their son by taking him to a variety of state and national parks as well as places where he connects with other full-time families at rallies and other events.

Both Gabriel and Alissa served in the military before they opted to hit the road as Workampers. He was a dog handler for the U.S. Marine Corps and she served in the Army.

When they first started RVing, Gabriel worked as a camp host or at other Workamping jobs while Alissa was working at her healthcare job.

A few years ago, he started cleaning RV holding tanks for a company and later ventured out on his own as the owner of Tank Rangers. Today, Gabriel teaches others how to be in business for themselves to provide the same type of service.

He built his business cleaning RV tanks by offering the service at RV rallies they attend, as well as at campgrounds they’re visiting. In fact, Gabriel and his family often follow the Grand Design circuit attending regional and national rallies.

Gabriel is not a trained RV technician; however, he has chosen to specialize in cleaning RV holding tanks.

Marketing his services usually involves posting where they are located on Facebook and offering the service to people in that area. He also posts signs, when possible, at the campground where he is staying.

Although they have traveled extensively, Gabriel and his family like spending time in Arizona and Colorado the most. They’d really like to spend more time in the Great Lakes area, upstate New York and Maine.

Their business is going so well that Alissa is contemplating stepping away from healthcare for a while to help run Tank Rangers. The firm is looking to set up franchises across the country. In exchange for a  franchise fee, people receive training on equipment to buy and how to use it, as well as ways to market the services.

You can connect with Gabriel at www.tankrangers.com as well as on Facebook and Instagram. People can learn more about becoming a professional holding tank cleaner by clicking on the Join the Convoy link on his home page.

Gabriel didn’t mention it in the interview, but he is also an affiliate for MORryde. And a portion of all their business income is donated to the Honor Flag Network as well as Irondog K9 International.

I wish him the best of luck as he grows his business and continues his RV adventures.
